Xpedition

A signature backcountry adventure where campers have the opportunity to discover wonder and awe beyond the Camp New Fork grounds.

Camp New Fork is a place where every camper is invited to seek out their wild. Programming at CNF is intentionally designed to challenge the campers and encourage them to do something wild.

Whether they are scaling the climbing wall, finding focus on the archery range, or paddling across the lake, each camper finds that they have more within themselves than they could have ever imagined.

At the heart of our Classic Camp programming is the Xpedition. In the middle of their 12-day session, campers head out from Camp New Fork and trek into the Wind River Range. The older campers will head out for a backpacking-style trip, while the younger campers will go on a basecamp-style adventure. The three-day, two-night trips are led by our WFR and WEMT certified staff and will usually be within an hour drive from Camp New Fork. Location will differ year to year and session to session depending on camper age, as well as weather conditions, and seasonal changes.

These shared challenges and the beauty of the backcountry create bonds and build resilience. On the trails, beneath the pines, alongside the lake, laughing around a campfire beneath ten-thousand stars our campers discover that growth happens in the wild.
