Alyssa & Josiah Finley

Alyssa spent most of her childhood in North Carolina and Okinawa, Japan. Although she loved nature from a young age, it wasn’t till she attended an outdoor leadership camp in Pennsylvania that she started considering the outdoors as both a passion and a career. After graduating college from North Carolina State University, Alyssa heard about a program in the Redwoods from a certain Josiah. 

Josiah grew up in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia and from a young age fell in love with the outdoors. He spent his college summers at Appalachian State working at an adventure camp in North Carolina, and then headed west to the California. For several years Josiah worked out an Outdoor Education program in the Redwoods where he moved into staffing, eventually recruited a young professional by the name of Alyssa.

Their professional relationship soon became a lifelong partnership and Alyssa and Josiah continued to their journey together, working in outdoor programs in Alaska, Hawaii, and finally with Wilderness Adventures in Wyoming. They are excited to build something special for campers at Camp New Fork!
