A WYOMING SUMMER

CAMP EXPERIENCE

Camp New Fork offers both 12-day and 5-day overnight camp experiences designed to capture the magic of summer for campers finishing 2nd-8th grade. Whether it’s a first step into overnight camp or a longer adventure, every camper will find challenge, fun, and friendship in the mountains of Wyoming.

Each session is filled with outdoor adventures like hiking scenic trails, canoeing across pristine waters, fly fishing, backcountry cooking, swimming, and more along with a few surprises that make every summer unique. Just as importantly, campers enjoy the timeless traditions of camp: singing around the fire, sharing s’mores under starlit skies, building friendships, and discovering independence in a supportive community.

At Camp New Fork, campers get the chance to step away from technology, spend their days outside, and return home with new skills, stronger confidence, and memories that last a lifetime. Whether for 5 or 12 days, the adventure is unforgettable.

Programmatic Progression

At Camp New Fork, our program is built on the foundation of progressive challenge and meaningful accomplishment. Campers don’t just attend camp, they embark on a journey. Through hands-on adventure, skill development, and community living, they rise through the ranks in a way that celebrates growth, resilience, and responsibility.

Each camper begins as a Pinecone, taking in the wonders of the camp world and beginning to learn the values of kindness, courage, and teamwork. As they demonstrate initiative and spirit, they rise to become a Trailwalker, where they begin to lead hikes, support their cabin-mates, and explore the boundaries of the wilderness and themselves.

From there, they may be selected as a Firekeeper, someone who carries the flame of CNF’s traditions, helping lead campfire songs, model responsibility, and mentor younger campers. Those who continue to grow into strong, thoughtful leaders may earn the honor of becoming a Windsong, a camper who lives the spirit of camp in all they do, lifting others up and creating moments of meaning and magic.

The pinnacle of the CNF journey is the Order of Knifewing. This is not merely a title, but a calling. These are campers who have risen through the ranks with humility, dedication, and service. Half-symbol, half-legend, Knifewing represents the union of earth and sky, youth and wisdom, those who fly not for glory but to carry others with them.

Our rank system is not about competition; it’s about personal growth, contribution to community, and the belief that challenge transforms us. At CNF, we celebrate the climb and our campers as they rise.
